As of May 2022 Salah Makouk has joined Careem to launch the Careem Incubator. Careem’s purpose is to simplify and improve the lives of people and build a lasting organization that inspires and the incubator will support Careem’s purpose by nurturing, mentoring and investing in great founders and startups. ​

​Before joining Careem, Salah was the head of Innovation at the Emirates Group leading the group’s efforts in creating a Travel, Aviation and Tourism startup ecosystem. Setting the strategy, roadmap and building all the teams, channels and platforms required for this ecosystem to thrive.​

At the Emirates Group the vision was to establish Dubai as the aviation startup capital of the world with a mission of solving for the Group’s problem & challenges and identification of investment or acquisition opportunities. ​ ​
