A recognized thought leader in the intersection of technology, sports, and tourism, Otman played a pivotal role in spearheading Microsoft’s technology solutions during the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, one of the most intricate and celebrated global events. Under his leadership, Microsoft successfully delivered seamless, secure, and scalable solutions, including smart stadium technologies, advanced fan engagement platforms, and real-time crowd and transport management systems, setting new standards for mega-event operations.
Prior to his role at Microsoft, Otman served as the Director of Technology and Strategy at Al Jazeera Media Network, where he was instrumental in driving the network’s digital transformation strategy, aligning technology innovation with business objectives to ensure long-term success in the rapidly evolving media landscape. Additionally, as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Msheireb Smart City, Otman led the development of Qatar’s pioneering smart city initiative, utilizing advanced technologies to create a connected, sustainable, and future-ready urban ecosystem.
