Amr Metwally is a distinguished healthcare executive and innovation strategist, widely recognized for spearheading transformative change across the GCC region and beyond. With over 20 years of leadership experience in both the private and public sectors, he has led high impact healthcare projects exceeding $7 billion USD in value driving industry evolution through innovation, digital transformation, and scalable strategic growth.
In 2024, Amr was honored as the “Chief Innovation Officer of the Year” for his groundbreaking contributions to healthcare innovation and digital health transformation. His achievements have garnered global recognition, including the SBID Award for the Most Intelligent Project Worldwide (2013), and personally acknowledged at the House of Lords in London.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Amr served as Commander of the National Rapid Response Committee in Qatar, where he led the accelerated planning, design, and deployment of critical healthcare
infrastructure across the nation. He currently serves in the executive leadership of Itqan Clinical Simulation & Innovation Center, one of the largest centers of its kind globally. Under his role, Itqan is rapidly emerging as a global hub for medical simulation, digital health, and innovation-driven collaboration positioning Qatar at the forefront of healthcare advancement. Beyond his executive role, Amr is an influential advisor on multiple national and international boards, shaping policies in healthcare innovation, AI integration, and digital transformation. As a thought leader and keynote speaker, he has delivered sessions in over 20 countries, sharing insights on innovation ecosystems and future healthcare models.
Amr holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, where he also serves on the EMBA Candidates Selection Committee. He is a mentor to several health-tech startups and contributes to national innovation initiatives, including the TASMU Smart Accelerator by Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. With a proven track record in ecosystem building, healthcare innovation, and strategic transformation, Amr continues to be a leading voice shaping the future of global healthcare.
