As Country Manager for Microsoft Qatar, Lana Khalaf spearheads the company’s efforts in supporting the country in its pursuit of the National Vision 2030, in line with Microsoft’s mission to empower every individual and organization to achieve more. Being passionate of how technology can impact lives, Lana focuses on driving innovation across Qatar and supporting smart initiatives by the government to enable digital transformation across all industries –and build a tech-intensity culture where public and private sectors can leverage modern technologies to better engage customers, empower employees, optimize operations and transform products and services. Khalaf also oversees Microsoft’s strategic partnerships in the public and private sector to enhance Qatar’s ecosystem thru the company’s contribution in building capacities by bridging the skills gap, as well as investing in critical infrastructure in order accelerate innovation and sustained economic growth. She also drives Microsoft’s objectives in Qatar to promote diversity and inclusion, in order to bridge gender parity gap, as well as encourage the role of women in the ICT sector. Lana Khalaf started her career with Microsoft in 2006 by taking responsibility for empowering students and teachers across the Gulf region to achieve more through technology, where her efforts were focused towards fostering innovation, with strong emphasis on developing STEM skills among students, and capability building for teachers and researchers. Prior to joining Microsoft, Lana has held positions in organizations such as Samsung and Active Mania with involvement in areas such automation of business processes as well connected solutions for Smart Cities. She has an MBA with focus on leadership from the Lebanese American University, and majors in Computer Science from the American University of Beirut.
